You should be able to add baby to your insurance without it. It took a few months I believe for me to receive my kids.
You need to notify your insurance immediately, if you haven’t already. They are usually fine with a wait for documentation but you need to tell them about the change in status/addition of a child pronto.
We got ours within a couple of weeks. But we had to put her on our insurance by the time she was 30 days old. Im not sure if that is a rule that just our insurance has or if it is every insurance.
