Strategy #1 Learn To Spot Your Childs Sleep Cues Does Costco Sell Pampers Diapers
Like the rest of us, your child has a sleep window of opportunity, a period of time when he is tired, but not too tired. If that window closes before you have a chance to tuck your child into bed, his body will start releasing chemicals to fight the fatigue and it will be much more difficult for you to get him to go to sleep. So how can you tell if your baby is getting sleepy? Its not as if your one-month-old can tell you what he needs. Here are some sleep cues that your baby is ready to start winding down for a nap or for bedtime:-Your baby is calmer and less active this is the most obvious cue that your baby is tired and you need to act accordingly.-Your baby may be less tuned-in to his surroundings his eyes may be less focused and his eyelids may be drooping.-Your baby may be quieter if your baby tends to babble up a storm during his more social times of the day, you may notice that the chatter dwindles off as he starts to get sleepy.-Your baby may nurse more slowly instead of sucking away vigorously, your baby will tend to nurse more slowly as he gets sleepy. In fact, if hes sleepy enough, he may even fall asleep mid-meal.-Your baby may start yawning if your baby does this, well, thats a not-so-subtle sign that hes one sleepy baby.
Who Has The Best Diaper Pattern And Design
- Both diapers have size-up indicators. These little lines or areas show when your baby is ready to go up a diaper size.
- And both Kirkland and Pampers have wetness indicators. This yellow line will turn blue when the diaper is wet. And they are super useful for parents with very young babies who need their diapers changed frequently.

What Are They Free From
If youve read my other diaper reviews, youll know all too well that what a diaper is free of is just as important as the materials they use. The ideal diaper for your babys health and for the environment is free from toxins and potential irritants like phthalates, chlorine, fragrances, lotions, and dyes using heavy metals. In a nutshell, phthalates have been linked to increased asthma and eczema rates, as well as abnormal genital development, and the term fragrances can be used by companies to cover up a smorgasbord of chemicals, as it isnt regulated by the FDA. Chlorine isnt necessarily harmful to your little ones health, but its terrible for the environment, and lotions and heavy metal dyes can irritate the skin. Read more about these harmful chemicals in my round-up of the best non-toxic diapers!
If a diaper brand steers clear of these toxins, it should display it pretty prominently on the packaging or on their site its a selling point, after all.

It looks like Costcos diapers fare pretty well in the non-toxic stakes. In fact, theyre completely free of fragrances, lotions, latex, and elemental chlorine. This is great, but I cant find any information on phthalates, so its possible that theyre used. Theyre also not completely free of chlorine, like other brands are.
Strategy #5 Know When Your Baby No Longer Needs To Be Fed At Night
Your baby may continue to wake up in the night out of habit even when hes outgrown the need for a middle-of-the-night feeding. If your baby is going without that nighttime feeding some of the time or doesnt seem particularly interested in nursing once he gets up in the night, it might be time to eliminate that nighttime feeding and use non-food methods to soothe him back to sleep.Eventually, of course, youll want to encourage him to assume responsibility for soothing himself to sleep, but the first hurdle is to work on breaking that powerful food-sleep association. With some children, it happens quickly. With other children, its a much slower process.Once you break that association, he may stop waking as often in the night and may be ready to start working on acquiring some self-soothing skills.

Strategy #6 Remain As Calm And Relaxed As Possible About The Sleep Issue
If you are frustrated and angry when you deal with your child in the night, your child will inevitably pick up your vibes, even if youre trying hard to hide your feelings.Accepting the fact that some babies take a little longer to learn the sleep ropes and feeling confident that you can solve your childs sleep problems will make it easier to cope with the middle-of-the-night sleep interruptions.Scientific studies have shown that parents who have realistic expectations about parenthood and who feel confident in their own abilities to handle parenting difficulties find it easier to handle sleep challenges.

Buying Diapers At Target Instead Of Costco
Target is another popular store where you can buy your babys needs. They offer deeper discounts and savings through Target Circle.
With Target Circle, you get 5% off with any purchases made in-store or online using your Target RedCard. Target also has a lot of savings and discounts that change every month. They also offer baby coupons or getting a Target gift card back when you spend a specific amount on baby stuff.
For our comparison, well look at the Huggies Little Snugglers in size 1 with 168 diapers in the pack. The everyday cost of this box is $39.99 . If you have a RedCard, you can get 5% off, bringing the price down to $37.99 .
While this product is not eligible for a subscription discount, Target is currently offering a special deal where you can get a $15 gift card when you purchase two boxes of diapers for same-day pickup.
Costcos Return Policy Rules
Whenever we see something new, we add it to our cart and give it a try. And thats the beauty of Costcoif I invest in a 36 pack of pouches and my kids dont like them, I can return them, even opened, even after sampling a few, for a full refund.
The same rule applies for everything at Costco. Try the diapers and they arent loved? Return them. Not a fan of the wipes? Customer service will give you your money back, no questions asked. So, whether you gamble on a new medley of pouches or go bulk on diapers and wipes, never fear that you will be out money if you are not happy with your purchase.
If youre interested in finding your own favorites for baby products at Costco, you can find the nearest Costco Warehouse to you by hovering over the Find a Warehouse here and typing in your zip code. Hopefully, savings is right around the corner.

Who Makes These Diapers
Surprisingly, both Kirkland diapers and Huggies diapers are made from Kimberly Clark manufactures in the USA.
For years, Costco has been asking Kimberly Clark and Procter and Gamble to produce a private-label diaper they could sell under the Kirkland label.
Kimberly Clark agreed! Thats why Huggies are available at Costco rather than Pampers because of their business with Kimberly Clark.

Best Fit: Huggies Plus
Huggies Mom: While Pampers are less bulky in between the legs, Huggies Plus has a snugger fit against the back. Mom liked the fact that explosions were contained in the diaper and did not get on her baby or their clothes. The protective barrier minimized the amount of outfit changes she had to perform throughout the day. Of course, she still had to change her babys diaper but she didnt have to change their clothes.
An added bonus of Huggies Plus is that the newborn size comes with a cut out for the umbilical cord to prevent rubbing and discomfort. If newborns could talk, were sure theyd complain about their soon-to-be belly buttons rubbing against their diapers. On the other hand, she felt that that Pampers where so loose around her kids backside that if they were sitting up straight, she was able to see straight down the diaper to her babys bum.
Pampers Mom: Our Pampers mom definitely had the opposite experiencethe fit of the Huggies diapers was not conducive to holding in dirty diapers at all. But, again, it may depend on the shape of your own babys bottom, so dont be afraid to try both brands and see which works better for your little one.
Snatch Up Some Free Diapers Because You Deserve Nice Things
The surefire and consistent way to get free diapers is to join diaper loyalty programs through the diaper brand, like Huggies Rewards. You earn 10 points for every dollar you spend on Huggies diapers. When you reach 4,000 points , you can redeem points for a small package of diapers.
Considering youll spend an average of $75 per month buying diapers, youll get a free package about once every five and a half months.
Or sign up for a Target Baby Registry and get a one-time welcome pack that includes a few free diapers.

The Best Baby Items To Purchase At Costco For Baby
Anyone who shops frequently at Costco knows that many of their items tend to change frequently. The items listed below are currently available at my local Costco and have been for a while. If these items change or disappear in the future I would venture to guess that they will be replaced with a similar alternative. These specific baby and toddler items can help you to be able to save more every month. Keep in mind that all the specific products listed here are subject to change as well as the pricing shown. Check with your local Costco for more information on what they carry and the exact prices.

Kirkland Diapers Aren’t The Best Value
Cheapism notes that it’s impossible to buy diapers at Costco without doing so in bulk, since the smallest quantity they sell in size 1 , contains a whopping 192 diapers. Babies will likely outgrow the size before all of the diapers are used. Besides, there are smaller quantities available at both Target and Amazon, both of which also boast subscription services and discounted prices. The Daily Meal argues diapers are actually cheaper at Target and Walmart. What’s more, you can buy diapers through Amazon Family and enjoy a 20 percent discount. If you’re looking to buy in bulk, you can also do so without having to worry about fitting everything in your car.
And while the majority of reviews on are positive for Kirkland diapers, a few unhappy shoppers point out some issues. They advise that Kirkland diapers have trouble with leakage. Another reviewer revealed the diapers are, “The first ‘Kirkland brand’ item I won’t buy again.” They may be cheaper than the name brand alternative, but Kirkland diapers may not get the job done as well as their competitors.
As depressing as it might sound, Kirkland diapers simply aren’t the best choice. At least we can rely on Kirkland bacon not to let us down.
How Much Are Kirkland Diapers
*Prices were accurate at the time this article was published but may change over time.
Kirkland diapers are the definition of budget-friendly, although remember that you have to pay about $60 dollars a year to be a Costco member. Costcos offerings are certainly some of the cheapest available if you set aside this fee. In fact, a 192 pack of size 1 diapers will set you back just under 30 bucks, or 16 cents a diaper. Size 2 Costco diapers come in at just 17 cents per diaper, size 3 at 18 cents per diaper, size 4 at 20 cents per diaper, size 5 at 24 cents per diaper, and, finally, size 6 at 30 cents.
Considering some premium diapers can set you back 70 cents per diaper or more, youre looking at a very budget-friendly brand in Costcos diapers. But, with diapers, you really do get what you pay for. While eco and skin-friendly brands tend to be a little more expensive, if you do have the budget, its worth considering these diaper brands. The positives for your baby and for the planet are aplenty.

With gazillions of different diaper brands out there, its hard to know which ones to buy for your baby. By doing your research and comparing the brands, you can narrow down the list of diapers youd like to try. Here is everything you ever wanted to know about Kirkland Signature diapers.
Lets start with my completely subjective thoughts about Kirkland diapers. These diapers look fluffy, similar to a Huggies diaper. These diapers are not going to be called a trim diaper.
Heres the basics:
Kirkland diapers are an economical choice, with their regular prices starting around $.15 per diaper, and occasional sales making the price less.
Kirkland diapers are sold at Costco stores and online.
Kirkland diapers have a pocketed waistband similar to what we see in a Huggies diaper. They offer a wetness indicator in sizes 1 and 2.
Kirkland Diapers Vs Huggies
I am a huge fan of Kirkland diapers so I was interested to see if Huggies could compare. I did a lot of research and found that Kirkland diapers cost less, but they also absorb 30% less than Huggies.
Huggies are known for their cute designs, but Kirkland recently updated their designs to be just as adorable. But at the end of the day, you really cant go wrong with either one. Both brands will keep your baby dry and comfortable.
So, which should you choose? Kirkland diapers vs Huggies?
Well, that depends on your budget and what youre looking for. If you want a diaper that is absorbent and affordable, go with Kirkland. If you are looking for a diaper with blow-out prevention and the best absorbency, go with Huggies.
No matter what you choose, both diapers will keep your baby happy and dry!
