GENTLE SALINE WIPES FOR STUFFY NOSES®: Boogie Wipes® saline nose wipes are wet wipes made with natural saline, which is gentle on skin, helps clean and dissolve snot and boogers, and wipes away dirt and germs. They’re gentle enough to be used on noses, faces, fingers and toes whenever cleaning is necessary.

Why A Saline Wipe

If you look at the ingredients on any pack of Boogie Wipes, youll see sodium chloride. Thats saline, and its a mineral found in both the earth and the body. And it turns out that its really good at breaking up and thinning out mucus .

Boogie Wipes products are made with 0.9 per cent isotonic saline. This is a sterile mixture of salt and water in the right concentration to do its job. Interestingly, its also a concentration thats similar to tears, blood and other body fluids.

Do You Need Fewer Baby Wipes When Your Baby Is Older

The answer is yes! You will need fewer wipes as your potty-trained baby gets older. This is because they will be doing a lot less pooping and peeing. Potty training is a huge milestone for both moms and babies. It can be a bit of a challenge, but once your little one is potty trained, you will be using fewer wipes. So hang in there and keep up the good work! Your baby will thank you.

Make Wiping Your Childs Nose Easier With Boogie Wipes

It is cold and flu season here in the states, and I have already seen my share of snot-caked little faces. Little children get more colds than older kids and adults, and they can turn into an agitated mess when you say Honey, I need to wipe your nose. These wipes are going to make your job as chief booger-wiper a lot easier!

When I first saw Boogie Wipes, I will confess that I thought it was another expensive product to separate first-world parents from their money. After all, I grew up on dry tissues and I survived.

I was wrong. These really work.

At first, I thought that the use of moisture was the key to their success. Not so. Parents told me that using a regular baby wipe didnt do the deal the way a Boogie Wipe took care of the snot problem and made kids calm down about nose-wiping. I had to find out what really made this product better.

  • Boogie Wipes have a few important ingredients that separate them from the standard baby wipes. The first ingredient is water. The second ingredient is sodium chloride good old salt. Saline is a combo of these two ingredients, and saline softens the gluey crud that is dried-on snot. It also thins the still-wet snot so you can wipe it away without pressing so hard on tender skin. Yeah!
  • The Boogie folks do sell a saline spray as well as wipes, and I am all for using saline spray to loosen up internal nose crud. The problem with sprays isnt that they dont work. They do, and they work well.

  • Use a bread knife to cut the roll of paper towels in two. Remove the cardboard roll. It is difficult and messy, but totally works if you keep at it!
  • Boil water and add salt, stir to dissolve and remove from heat.
  • Add the oils and stir.
  • Let cool to room temperature.
  • Put the paper towels in the old wipe canister and cover with your saline solution. My roll of paper towels was too thick to fit in the canister so I took off a few and put in a Ziploc bag for traveling.
  • *Note that there is baking soda in the picture. My batch with baking soda ended up with a funky smell and I found that I liked it better without the baking soda. I should take these pictures all over again, but thats not going to happen with a one year old. I only get one shot at these photo shoots.

HOW TO PUT A BABY TO SLEEP

Babies can’t have decongestant medicine until they’re 4 years old because potentially life-threatening side effects could occur, according to the Food and Drug Administration . However, “you can gently clear your newborn’s nose with saline solution and a bulb syringe,” says Michael Rothschild, M.D., director of pediatric otolaryngology at Mt. Sinai Hospital, in New York City. Saline solution is the only safe nasal spray for babies, infants, and toddlers.

To use saline solution, lay the baby down on their back and, if possible, slightly tilt their head back . Then spray two to three drops of saline spray into each nostril. Don’t worry if your baby sneezes some of it outit still made its way into the nasal passage. If any spray comes out of the nose, wipe it away gently with a tissue.

Once the saline spray is in your baby’s nose, you’ll want to use a bulb syringe . Choose one that’s specially made for their tiny nostrils it should have a rounded, acorn-shaped tip, says Dr. Rothschild. Once again, lay your baby down on their back. Squeeze the bulb to get all of the air out, and, while still squeezing, gently insert the tip into your baby’s nostril . Then release the pressure, take it out, and squeeze the mucus out of the bulb onto a tissue. Repeat in the other nostril for an effective baby stuffy nose remedy.

    • Use them sparingly. Not every diaper change requires wipes, according to the AAP, since urine rarely irritates the skin and todays diapers are more absorbent than ever. Using wipes for poop clean-ups only can help you save money over time.
    • Reassess if baby has diaper rash. If your little one develops diaper rash, you may want to try switching brands or forego baby wipes entirely instead, clean baby with cotton balls or a washcloth soaked in warm water.

How Long Does An Opened Baby Wipes Pack Stay Usable For

Most opened packs of wet wipes should stay fresh for 3 months though were willing to bet youll have finished the pack way before then!

Obviously, its important to make sure the pack is resealed properly after each use and its a good idea to keep it at room temperature and out of direct sunlight, if you can.

The biggest risk to an opened pack is that the water content in the wipes will evaporate and dry out. You can rehydrate dried-out wipes with water but only if you have access to filtered water .

Otherwise, you can use any dried-out wipes to mop up spills much better than simply chucking them out.

    Can You Flush Baby Wipes

Alphabet Lore But Baby Transform ( Full Version )

Oh baby â thatâs a hard no. Even though baby wipes deal with the same things the potty does, they should never be flushed down the toilet. They arenât made to break down like toilet paper is, and, if you flush them, you could have some major plumbing problems on your hands like serious clogs and blockages. If youâve flushed baby wipes and havenât had any problems with your own plumbing, the diaper wipes could still be affecting your communityâs sewer pipes, making more of a mess for everyone around you.

Where should you get rid of baby wipes? We can think of no better option than the trashcan. Unless theyâre biodegradable baby wipes or compostable baby wipes, the trash is your best bet for safely disposing of them. Keep in mind biodegradable baby wipes will break down naturally making them a great option instead of traditional ones.

You may be perplexed by the numerous alternatives for baby wipes available on the market. In this case, you must examine the wipes’ packaging label and read the components.

The best wet baby wipes should consist of certain things. The first thing you should look at is the substances of newborn baby wipes. Do Baby Wipes Kill Germs

Every parent and caregiver wonders this at one time â do baby wipes kill germs? The answer is no. Thatâs because sensitive baby wipes are just that â theyâre made to be extra gentle on your babyâs uber delicate skin. Baby wipes are water-based wipes that donât contain germ-killing ingredients like disinfectant wipes do. If youâre looking for the best way to keep germs away while wiping up your babyâs diaper messes, we recommend washing your hands before and after every diaper change.

Biodegradable baby wipes should never ever be used in your home in replace of cleaning wipes, unless youâre aware that when youâre wiping up messes, thinks like germs, bacteria, and viruses arenât being killed. The same goes for hand sanitizer and other types of disinfectant wipes â donât switch them out for baby wipes and expect the baby wipes to do the same job as the wipes that kill germs do.
